Rescheduled matches provide interesting results

In a scheduled week’s break from the Premier League competition, there was still plenty of action on the pitch as previously cancelled matches were rescheduled.

In the men’s competition, the KSS Jets hosted Granville in a Fraser Coast local derby, with the Jets scoring a hard-fought 3-1. Leading 1-0 at half-time, the team scored a further two goals in the second half before Granville found the back of the net late in the match.

Troy Christophers scored a double for the Kawungan Sandy Straits team.

In another rescheduled fixture, the United Park Eagles and the Fraser Flames drew 2-2.

The women’s Premier League competition provided significant results with Across the Waves thrashing the United Warriors 12-0 on Friday night before Diggers scored a 7-0 win over Tinana. Bingera etched out a 3-2 win over the KSS Jets.

This week’s men’s fixtures will feature Across the Waves hosting Doon Villa, while Granville and Sunbury will face off in a Maryborough local derby. The United Park Eagles play Bingera while the KSS Jets host S.C. Corinthians.

The women’s competition features two matches on Friday with the United Park Eagles up against Bingera at Martens Oval while the United Warriors play Sunbury in Hervey Bay.

On Saturday, the KSS Jets play Diggers while Across the Waves and Tinana will battle at Martens Oval.
