BURNETT LADIES
Wednesday winners were Ros Byers, Ros Horwell & Barb Mulley. Next Tuesday the 9th August 2022 will be our first round in the Pennants at Moore Park, cars to leave the from the club at 7.45 a.m. the return game will be on Friday the 12th August at Burnett club 8.30 a.m. morning tea. Wednesday the 10th August is our President’s Day 12.30 start. Please put your name on sheet at club if you would like to play. Pennants for the following week are on Tuesday the 16th August, Burnett travels to Woodgate Bowls club and the return match is on Wednesday the 17th August at Burnett bowls club 8.30 a.m. morning tea. Teams will be up on the board. The Burnett Bowls club will be holding a Cent Sale on Saturday the 6th August at 1.30 p.m. start. Please ring the club to book a table phone 41514217. There will be no social bowls next Wednesday as we have our Presidents day starting at 12.30. p.m.

PENNANT RESULTS
Great Round 1 results with all 5 Divisions winning their games. Division 1 defeated Woodgate 65-48 (2 rinks), Division 2 defeated Brothers 57-42 (3 rinks), Division 3 defeated Bargara 64-50 (2.5 rinks), Division 4 defeated Bargara 43-37 (1 rink) and Division 5 defeated Bargara 43-23 (2 rinks). Well done to all players involved and we look forward to the remaining rounds. Pennant team selections for Round 2 will be posted on the Club noticeboard on Tuesday.

Champion of Champion Singles Zone Playoffs: Tony Townson travelled to Boyne Tannum on Sunday to contest the Zone playoffs. He won his first match 25-5 to progress to the final where he was narrowly beaten 25-20. Well done Tony for representing yourself and Burnett Bowls Club so well.

Tuesday 9th August: 50/50 Day – Open Pairs (Men’s, Ladies, Mixed) 3 Bowl Pairs – 27 ends. Where 50 percent of the green fees for the day is returned as prizemoney. 1pm start, names by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.45pm. The 1 bowl Jackpot will be played after the game.
Wednesday 10th August: ‘Scroungers’ Singles – this is a fun game of Singles similar to consistency singles where points are allocated to the 4 closest bowls to the jack. Games are played over 12 ends with no driving allowed. Names in by 6.15pm with games starting at 6.30pm. green fees are $8 with 50 percent of the green fees being returned as prizemoney. All ability levels welcome so come along for a fun night out.
Thursday 11th August: ‘Thirsty Thursday’ Open Pairs. 3pm start, names by 2.30pm. Free drink (Sponsored) included in green fees. Games will finish at 5pm with two random lucky draws as prizes.
Thursday 11th August: Night Bowls – bowls starts at 6.30pm, names in by 6pm. Bowl under lights and enjoy a fun filled night with a chance at the ‘Pick the Joker’ Jackpot. Visitors and those that want to try bowls for the first time will be made feel very welcome.

CLUB NEWS
Club opening hours are – Monday (Club closed), Tuesday 10am – 5.30pm, Wednesday 10am – 9pm, Thursday 11am – 9pm, Friday 10am – 9pm, Saturday 10am – 6pm (10pm for Functions) Sunday Bowls Days 9am – 2pm.
The Goose Club raffle will be drawn on Friday night at 7pm. The Members Draw is now at $70 so come along, have a meal and a few drinks with the chance to win some great cash and prizes.
Live entertainment for this Friday night the 5th August will be ‘The Other Bloke’ and the following Friday the 12th August, live music will be delivered by Bradz Rock N Rhythms. Members, Guests, and Visitors are always welcome.
