The juniors were out in force on Sunday as Surf Life Saving competition returned to Wide Bay for this season.

Dozens of juniors from surf life saving clubs around Wide Bay and Capricorn went to Moore Park Beach for the first round of the Wide Bay Capricorn Branch junior carnival.

Juniors competed in a wade race (for those in under-8 to under-10), surf race (under-9 to under-15), board race (under-9 to under-15), iron person race (under-11 to under-15), beach sprint (everyone) and beach flags (everyone).

And the weather was perfect, with a little breeze to counterbalance the day’s heat.

Bundaberg Today was there taking photos of the action.

The next branch junior carnival is in Hervey Bay on 5 December.
