While the importance of safety in the ocean is no laughing matter, the opportunity to support the valuable work of the Bundaberg Surf Lifesaving Club through The Land Locked Comedy Tour can’t be missed.

Bundaberg Surf Lifesaving Club secretary Amanda Findlay said the show was an ideal way to finish up a weekend of festivities for the club’s 100-year celebratory weekend.

“We are appreciative that 100 per cent of ticket sales go directly to Bundaberg Surf Lifesaving Club as Arts Queensland is funding this tour,” she said.

“Given there are a few cheeky moments, the show is for over 18s and Riverfeast will be open at 3pm with a food vendor and live music before the comedy show starts at 5pm,” she said.

“We think it will be a great way to finish up an exciting weekend and who doesn’t enjoy a good laugh with friends in such a perfect location as Riverfeast on Sunday 22 May.”

The Land Locked Comedy Tour stars four of Queensland’s best cruise ship comedians Rob Brown, Fiona McGary, Steve Allison and Andrew Nason in a show which sets sail, bringing with them all the fun of a cruise ship without the buffet or sea sickness.

The Land Locked Comedy Tour is designed to engage with the community, provide regional venues with a high-quality entertainment option and presents an opportunity for regional non-profit organisations to raise much needed funds to continue their great work.

The comedians show great diversity with Rob Brown one of Australia’s leading stand-up comedians and corporate entertainers.

Rob’s satirical, cheeky, out of the box views on the world comes from a very interesting past. From experiences growing up in a caravan park, working for over a decade as a prison officer in maximum security prisons, his time training security services in Iraq and Afghanistan, his family life – children, and marriage, and more.

Rob gives audiences a show that is fresh and he has more than enough to give.

Fiona McGary’s comedy will put you at ease, loosen you up, draw you expectantly close and then throw you back in your seat with laughter.

Her exceptionally original approach to comedy gigs leaves her audience sore from laughing while feeling motivated and inspired.

She has been performing stand-up comedy for over 20 years, both throughout Australia and overseas, and her performances have featured in The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and The Sydney Comedy Festival. She has performed in almost every comedy venue in the country alongside comedy legends such as Jimeoin, Adam Hills, Arj Barker, Judith Lucy, Wil Anderson and Dave Hughes.

Steve Allison knows how to make people laugh, and as soon as Steve picks up the microphone, it’s obvious.

He commands attention, and laughter is the best way to get it.

With a cool and casual approach, hundreds of thousands of people have enjoyed his clever style of comedy.

With a natural sense of humour and quick wit, Steve’s show is a well-crafted mix of snappy one-liners, hilarious stories, funny home truths and current topics.

It’s Aussie humour at its best.

Andrew Nason propelled himself onto the Australian comedy scene in 1994.

A former high school teacher, Andrew felt the relative quiet of a comedy club audience would be a welcome change from the various classrooms where he had been performing.

With a keen wit and incisive style, he remains one of the most popular comedians on the SE Qld Comedy Circuit, both as a headline act and MC.

A professional improviser as well as comedian, Andrew is able to combine these skills in his performances, presenting a show that is fresh and constantly evolving and changing.
