It was a time for celebration for the Precision Body Corporate team as they toasted to the milestone of 10 years in business.
Precision Body Corporate Management director Lucinda Doughty said when she heard the statistics of how many businesses failed within the first 12 months, it made her and partner Scott Mackey very pleased to be a local success story.
“Particularly in strata, where a lot of businesses operate for a few years and then sell out to bigger companies. The fact that we have maintained local ownership is wonderful,” she said.
“We are also very happy to have started from scratch to now employ five full-time staff across two offices with a clear locally-owned and community focus.”
Precision Body Corporate has two offices – in Bundaberg, which is the head office, and in Rockhampton.
For both Scott and Lucinda, it is important for their local clients to have the option of a local company.
“The great thing about strata management is that we can manage complexes anywhere in Queensland,” she said.
“While the majority of our portfolio is in central Queensland – Bundaberg, Bargara, Gladstone, Emerald Rockhampton and Yeppoon – we manage clients from Cairns to the Gold Coast.
“The beauty of being a medium-sized business is that we have enough staff to ensure continuity of service, but are small enough that all of our staff are familiar with most of our clients so we can give a personal, efficient service.”
Scott said Covid had a positive impact on the business in regards to greater education on the benefits of zoom and other technology, and Lucinda agreed that Covid had a limited negative impact on the business.
“However, specialist assistance with strata is always important,” she said.
“Legislation keeps changing, new obligations are regularly introduced, and things like the insurance market are constantly changing.
“It is so important to have an experienced body corporate manager who is across these matters.
“We help owners be aware of issues that they may not even know can affect them.
“Our knowledge of areas like insurance and debt recovery can often help complexes save money.
“We are getting more and more enquiries from complexes in Bundaberg, Gladstone and Rockhampton.
“A lot of these complexes are being managed by companies in the south-east corner, so it is great to see that they are looking to bring their business relationships back to the local area where the managers know the difference between Bargara and Barolin.”
