Bundaberg residents that fall under the phase 1B category can now book in for their Covid-19 vaccine at a number of local GP clinics.
The Queensland roll-out of Phase 1B begins on 19 March.
Under Phase 1B, adults aged over 70 and health care workers not already included in previous vaccine rollouts will be eligible to receive the vaccine.
It also includes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged over 55, adults with some underlying medical conditions including chronic kidney failure, heart disease, chronic lung disease, diabetes, chronic liver disease, severe obesity and some neurological conditions.
Critical and high risk workers including defence force, police, fire, emergency services and meat processing workers will also be eligible to book in an appointment.
Almost 250 GP clincis in Queensland, nine in the Bundaberg region, will be offering vaccines from Monday. (22 March)
About 1 million people are set to be vaccinated in phase 1B.
The AstraZeneca vaccine will be the common vaccine administered through GP clinics, pharmacies and hospitals in Queensland during April.
The AstraZeneca also requires two doses, 12 weeks apart.
