The weather gods and rising river levels have been kind to the Bundaberg Powerboats.

The association has confirmed its final meeting, the Christmas Classic, will go ahead next month because Sandy Hook will be at the right water level for the competition.

Bundaberg Powerboats cancelled its last meeting in October after Sandy Hook was forecast to drop to 1.8 metres as work was being done on the nearby Ben Anderson Barrage.

The association posted last week that due to Sandy Hook rising from 2 metres now and potentially to 2.5 metres by 4 December, the event was back on.

The height could rise further with more water expected at Sandy Hook as the Burnett River rises following Paradise Dam filling up and spilling water, following more than 100mm of rain falling in the catchment area.

Bundaberg Powerboats is now calling on all drivers and teams to nominate ahead of the event.

The association, following the meet, will hold its presentation night and sausage sizzle to end the year.
