Go-kart racer Alice Litzow has watched on, patiently biding her time as her family members claimed state titles.
Now the Bundy Karts driver has joined them.
She now has bragging rights over her brother, James Litzow, and her boyfriend, current Supercars driver Todd Hazelwood, after winning the 4SS trophy in the senior light class at the titles last weekend in Bundaberg.
Litzow led every lap to land her first ever state title.
She now joins both James and Todd, who have won state and national titles in their karting careers.
And while she might mention it to them a few times, Litzow was also pleased to have their support over the weekend.
“It was an awesome weekend but it was great to have the support from Todd and my family as well,” she said.
“I did well in all my heat races and in the final.”
Litzow has been close before to getting her hands on a state title but fell short. The focus for this final was simple.
“It was all about the start,” Litzow said.
“If I could get a good start, I was away.
“I just gapped everyone and it was awesome from there.”
The home track advantage also helped Litzow.
She will now prepare to race in the final meet of the year next month before supporting Todd as he returns to Supercars racing.
