The Waves in under-14 Wide Bay North showed why it was the top side in the competition.

The team scored 22 goals in its match against Gin Gin last Saturday at Martens Oval.

Play resumed for the first time in a couple of week due to the school holidays, but the time off didn’t impact The Waves’ form.

The team bounced back into action, dominating from start to finish.

Tino Giovannoni led from the front with six goals and was joined by Matthew Grima, Noah Briggs and Ryan Hack, who all scored hattricks.

While the scoreboard didn’t help Gin Gin, the team has had a good season.

Gin Gin sits sixth on the table with three wins for the season, including the previous two weeks.
