If the conditions in Bundy had any impact on Alexandra Bozovic’s performance, it didn’t show on the scoreboard.
The world number 457 dominated the Realway Open to claim her second title in Australian Money Tournaments in the space of two weeks.
The 22-year-old lost just nine games in four matches, which included just three in the final with a 6-2 6-1 win over Megan Smith.
“It’s my first time in Bundy, so it’s my first experience playing on courts like these,” Bozovic said after the match.
“I haven’t played on the clay for a while so I had to get used to longer rallies.
“Overall I am happy with my results and happy with the win.”
Bozovic said the final was tough despite winning comfortably in the end on the scoreboard.
“Megan is a quality player, she hits the ball bigger than most girls on the tour,” she said.
“It was tough coming up against her.”
This is Bozovic’s third tournament back after she suffered an injury overseas while in Dubai in January.
The goal now is to go back overseas soon.
I’m just getting back into it now,” Bozovic said.
“I’m looking to have a training block and heading overseas.”
Before that she will compete in Adelaide in the next few weeks in some more tournaments.
It was a perfect weekend for Bozovic as she was able to combine with Jessica Fowler to win the doubles title as well.
