Crush surpasses 930,000 tonnes

It was another solid week of the 2025 Bundaberg Sugar crush season.

Week 21 saw 48,764 tonnes of sugarcane processed at Millaquin MIll in the seven days ending Sunday 11 October.

That figure lifts the total throughput for the season to 930,729.94 tonnes.

This season’s throughput remains on track to exceed the 2024 figure.

Last year, the 1 million tonne barrier was broken in Week 26, this year that looks likely to take place in Week 23.

Week 21 was 2000 tonnes down compared to Week 20.

The mill’s average CCS for Week 21 was 15.00, an increase of 0.22 week on week.

It lifts the mill’s average for the 2025 season to 13.93, an increase of 0.06 on the previous week.

The highest individual CCS for the week was 17.50 units for Q240.

The highest variety average CCS for the week was 16.07 units for SRA 29.

The base CCS for Millaquin Mill remains 13.00.

Bundaberg Sugar group services officer Ron Crouch reported the following four major varieties supplied for Week 21 to Millaquin Mill were as follows:

Q240 with 31.1 per cent of supply and an average CCS of 15.01 units.

Q208 with 21.2 per cent of supply and an average CCS of 15.00 units.

KQ228 with 16.1 per cent of supply and an average CCS of 15.35 units.

SRA 11 with 8.4 per cent of supply and an average CCS of 13.15 units.
