“Global Care Africa” have a goal.
To see as many displaced children as possible with a good home, good food, clean clothes and a quality education as possible.
Global Care Africa’s David Ballard and his committee have been working tirelessly to help make a difference and currently they are focusing on building a school.
The GlobalCare Gala Dinner will be held on the 26 March with the ambitious goal to raise $50 000.
They have raised enough money to purchase the land and now it is time to fundraise for the school building and teacher accommodation.
They have also helped build houses with their inspiration coming from African local lady, Mama Caroline Achom.
“Mama” Caroline is a 34 year old woman who herself was an orphan.
Her father died when she was two and her mother died when she was nine.
Her brother then sold her to a man who brutally raped her and beat her and made her work very long hours.
Eventually Caroline escaped this man and lived on the streets of Kampala surviving any way she could.
Caroline could have become bitter and turned her back on the world.
Instead she chose to change it by becoming “ Mama” to orphaned children.
“In 2019 we helped “ Mama” Caroline Achom build a home for 50 children in Tororo Uganda and now we are excited to focus on the school and help give hope to the future of these children through education” Mr Ballard said.
“We have a saying here at “ Global Care Africa.”
“We can’t help everybody, but everybody can help somebody.
“Global Care Africa have turned their life around.
“They now have a future and they now have a hope.
“They now have a home and they now have the greatest gift of all – love, talking about the African community that they have been working in.
Tickets are $70 for adults, $35 for children (12 and under) and $600 for a table of 10.
They can be purchased online at Bundaberg Tickets or by contacting David Ballard on 0418 761 779.
The GlobalCare Africa Gala Dinner will be held on 26 March 2022, Rowers on the River with a three course meal, auction, raffles and music.
