Sounds of Rock Festival returns

This year's Sound of Rock Festival was a welcome addition to the local music calendar.

Tickets sold out, social media blew up with extremely positive reviews, and Sound of Rock Festival organiser Trevor Sands knew this was going to be a welcome regular addition to the Bundaberg region’s social calendar.

Trevor and his team were overwhelmed both with the thank-you messages they received for providing such an exceptional range of music and people asking when the next one would be.

“The Sounds of Rock Festival was very well-received by the Bundaberg public as way too often this region misses out on the larger festivals because other promoters did not believe that Bundaberg would support such an event; well boy did NUI Events prove them wrong,” Trevor said.

“We were so proud to not only produce an event like this but also that we had people from as far south as New South Wales and north as Townsville in attendance and now with Bundaberg Tourism on board we will be able to promote the festival even further afield and bring new and past visitors to our fantastic region.

“We know that the festival is a wonderful drawcard but that also there is just so much here for visitors, they are spoilt for choice.”

Next year’s Sounds of Rock Festival will be slightly different as it will move to a bigger venue – the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct – to accommodate an expected larger crowd.

This easy-to-access venue will host a new line-up of Australian legends.

The only hint that organisers will give Bundaberg Today before the official line-up launch on Triple M and its Facebook page on 2 December at 9am is that all acts showcased have had a number one hit on the charts during their careers.

“We encourage festival fans to keep their ears open in the lead up to 2 December as certain comments might help them guess who the line-up is even before the launch,” Trevor said.

“We are keeping with the same theme as 2021 and it is going to be a great night with plenty of classic songs and dancing that Bundaberg is so ready.

“We would like to thank the Bundaberg public for their continued support and believe tickets will sell even faster this time round.

“The response of new and old sponsors who want to be involved in this fantastic event is also unbelievable and we thank them all and will continue to raise awareness of all the details after the launch.”
