A 35 year-old man will face court after being accused of punching a police officer in the face in the Bundaberg CBD on 20 January.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said that the incident occurred at 2.40pm outside of the Police Beat.
The 35 year-old was also allegedly being spoken to in regards to other some other matters when he attempted to flee police on foot where he then resisted arrest.
”The man had been charged with serious assault of a police officer causing bodily harm, obstruct police, failing to take precautions in respect to a needle or syringe and possessing a knife in a public place,” spokesperson said.
The man was taken into custody and is due to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on February 26.
