Grease is the word at the Playhouse Theatre

It’s one of the world’s most iconic and loved musicals and it’s coming to the Playhouse Theatre in March.

Director Bex Hutchins said the cast and crew can’t wait to invite audiences to join in the magic of Grease.

“Nothing beats the feeling you get, going back to Rydell High. Danny, Sandy, Kenickie, Rizzo and the whole gang are back to give you a night out, like only Grease can,” Bex said.

“Get ready to be transported to a world of high school romance, unforgettable music, and pure, unadulterated fun.”

Grease is on for an extended season of 12 performances over three weeks.

There are Wednesday and Thursday night performances starting at 6.30pm on March 13, 14, 20 and 21.

Friday and Saturday nights at 7.30pm March 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23 and Sunday matinees at 3pm March 10 and 17.

“We have extended the season to Wednesday and Thursday nights because we have already had such interest in Grease,” Bex said.

“These nights will start at 6.30pm so families can get home early on school nights”.

The cast is a who’s who of Playhouse favourites and some fresh new faces:

Danny Zuko – Sam Brisbane.

Sandy Dumbrowski – Stella Hutchins.

Eugene – Rowan Lawton.

Miss Lynch – Alison Esposito.

Patty Simcox – Eva McGrail.

Teen Angel – Michael Dart.

Rizzo – Grace Petersen.

Frenchy – Caitlin Gilfoyle.

Marty – Alana Bender.

Jan – Shalyn Knight.

Pink Lady #5 – Danielle Robert.

Doody – Tim Heffernan.

Kenickie – Lachlan Davis.

Sonny – Matthew Stark.

Roger – Brayden Rewald.

T-Bird #5 – Reid McWha.

“As well as our leads we have an amazing ensemble who have been learning the songs and dances since last year – they will literally knock the audiences socks off.”
