Performing so natural for Todd

Local musician Todd Keightley has a very raw sound that appeals to audiences.

Having asked his mother if he could learn the guitar at the tender age of five, it seems local musician Todd Keightley was destined to be entertaining crowds later in life.

Getting his first guitar at six, having his first performance at seven, Todd has gone from there and continues to wow crowds with his original sound that is very raw and acoustic – just his voice, guitar and a stomp box.

This acoustic sound has been shaped slightly by his musical influences, which include memorable Australian talent including Midnight Oil and overseas artists well known for their distinct sounds, Tracey Chapman, Pearl Jam and Cat Stevens.

Todd said he was happy to perform for an audience whenever possible as there was so much energy and a great atmosphere.

“The feeling is amazing when you finish and know you have given it your all from the first to the last song,” he said.

“I am proud to say that my music is constantly evolving whether it be my original writing or covers gigs and I think my music is honest; it’s raw and every song I play I perform it in a style of my own.

“My future is unknown but I will keep performing, writing, recording and being involved in the music industry in some shape or form.”

Todd has a wealth of upcoming gigs. For more information visit his Facebook page.
