Call out for local artists to exhibit HERE + now

Local artists are encouraged to share their creativity with the region and submit their applications to be included in this year’s HERE + now exhibition at Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery.

Now in its sixth year, the exhibition, which will be on display in Gallery Two from 13 September to 3 November, celebrates artists from the region’s vibrant visual arts community.

Expressions of interest to be included in the exhibition open on Friday 14 June and close Friday 19 July.

“HERE + now is a wonderful annual exhibition on the Galleries’ calendar,” Cr Learmonth said.

“It’s always inspiring and exciting to see what themes and subjects have captured the attention of the region’s artists over the past year.

“I encourage every eligible artist to consider submitting their work for the chance to be exhibited amongst the fantastic local talent we have in the region.”

To be eligible for consideration, submitting artists must reside in or have a strong affiliation with the Bundaberg region, and have created their artwork after 1 July 2023.

All visual art forms are accepted including two dimensional, three dimensional and digital works.

The final selection of artworks for HERE + now 2024 is at the discretion of Bundaberg Regional Galleries and based on the curatorial intent of the exhibition.

HERE + now 2024 key dates:

14 June: Artist expression of interest opens.

19 July: Artist expression of interest closes.

2 August: Artists selected for the exhibition notified.

13 September: Exhibition opens at Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery.

3 November: Exhibition closes.
