Celebrate the region for 2024 Milbi Festival

The Bundaberg Region is set to come alive with culture, fun, and celebration as the 2024 Milbi Festival kicks off in October.

The annual event promises a rich tapestry of activities and experiences for all ages, celebrating the unique heritage and natural beauty of the area.

This year’s diverse line-up will be spread across 10 days, from 25 October to 3 November, and will begin with a Sunset Launch before other major events like

Breakfast at the Zoo, Milbi Twilight Table and Sunset Sounds take centre stage.

Local culture will be on show through a range of activities such as the Bundy Belle Taribelang River Cruise, a Weaving Garden, Gurang Ghurri Community Cricket Match and more.

Adventurers aren’t left out either, with activities including a Learn to Surf session and Yoga in the Park on the agenda.

It wouldn’t be Milbi Festival without a showcasing of the region’s well-loved marine creatures, who will be celebrated through Turtle Hour, Milbi @ Mon Repos and a Turtle Odyssey event.

Mayor Helen Blackburn expressed excitement for the upcoming festival.

“The Milbi Festival is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together and celebrate our vibrant culture and natural surroundings,“ she said.

“It’s a time to showcase what makes the Bundaberg Region so special and to create lasting memories for both residents and visitors.“

Events portfolio spokesperson Cr Steve Cooper highlighted the festival’s inclusive and diverse range of activities.

“From traditional arts to outdoor adventures, music showcases and educational workshops, there’s something for everyone at the 2024 Milbi Festival,“ he said.

“We’re proud to offer a line-up that not only entertains but also educates, inspires and creates a connection to culture and our community.“

Key dates: Ticket sales: Tuesday 20 August.
